Three become one - STOCKMEIER Chemie merges companies in Germany

The STOCKMEIER Group has reached another milestone. STOCKMEIER Chemie Dillenburg and STOCKMEIER Chemie Eilenburg have been merged into STOCKMEIER Chemie GmbH & Co. KG. Under the project name "STOCKMEIER One (S1)", three companies have thus become one.

STOCKMEIER One

The family-owned company appoints Joachim Schlinkert as Chairman of the Management Board of the German company and Jörg Ruffing as his Vice Chairman. STOCKMEIER relies on the many years of experience of both executives in the complex business model of chemical distribution. At management level, the important growth area of speciality chemicals is represented by Dirk Seidel, while the main plant in Bielefeld remains the responsibility of Mike Dannenberg.

"Supply bottlenecks, extreme price volatility, broken supply chains and strong uncertainty have characterised the past years. The complex correlations and interactions in the chemical industry and supply chains demand a great deal of knowledge from our team, as well as clear product and market strategies for our partners. With STOCKMEIER One, we have created structures to find strategic answers to the challenges of the current times and to align the company for the future," explains Joachim Schlinkert.

The warehouse and logistics network, as well as product and service offerings, will be harmonised through the merger of the companies. Overarching requirements such as quality management, regulation, documentation and digitalisation will be combined and thus become more efficient. With the supra-regional sales responsibility in Jörg Ruffing's resort, the focus on the market and external requirements will be sharpened. "I am proud to lead a dynamic, agile and diverse team. We rely on both young employees and experience in our management team. We benefit from the immense knowledge in the heads of our team. With the new structures, we want to use the strengths and experience of our employees even more comprehensively in order to recognise trends in the market at an early stage and to be sustainably competitive. The close exchange between sales and product management is a key to success," explains Jörg Ruffing.

STOCKMEIER Chemie's own development and production of professional cleaners is a special feature within the chemical distribution business model. For many years, the company has been successful here in the surface technology, automotive and food industry markets. Under the leadership of Managing Directors Jens Christensen and Dr. Boris Hinz, tailor-made customer solutions for the food and non-food sectors will continue to be developed in the future. "We are well positioned with our team for the high requirements in the field of biocides, regulatory affairs, but also sustainability," explains Jens Christensen. "Our qualified and experienced employees are out and about in the market every day, advising and supporting our customers on site. Individual problem solutions as well as high delivery readiness are our strength. In this context, proximity to chemical distribution is a key success factor."

With the STOCKMEIER One project, the company has also created the basis for the further European orientation of chemical distribution. The newly founded STOCKMEIER Chemicals will be the umbrella for the chemical distribution companies of the STOCKMEIER Group in Europe. Central functions will be combined here for even better service and greater efficiency. To this end, the focus is on the European marketing of speciality chemicals, the bundling of purchasing as well as the reduction of complexity in the support of key customers.

In over 100 years, the company has developed from a regional trading house into one of the leading owner-managed chemical distributors in Europe. In the process, it has always remained true to its values as a family business.
